Grease Trap Cleaning In Brisbane & South East Queensland
Lee’s Environmental provides grease trap or fat trap cleaning (also known as pumping, pumpout, removal or emptying of grease traps). Grease traps are enclosed cavities (round or rectangular in shape) usually dug into the ground and closeby to the kitchen which collect liquid waste which exits the kitchen sink. Because grease floats, it is “trapped” in between baffle walls inside the grease trap, while allowing the cleaner water to safely exit the grease trap. We service the Brisbane, South East QLD region and nearby regional areas, please contact us to enquire.
Frequency Guide
Cleaning frequency based on usage levels:
2 Weekly – 7-10 people | 1-2 Monthly – 6 People |
3 Monthly – 4-5 People | 4 Monthly – 3 People |
6 Monthly – 2 People | 12 Monthly – 1 Person |
All households which are not connected to council sewerage will have a grease trap installed at the premises to trap grease to prevent the grease from blocking up outlet pipes and underground dispersion areas (called “absorption/aspiration trenches or “drain fields”).

Grease trap waste being pumped out
Between 1 to 3 months of waste collecting in the grease trap, the grease should be removed to ensure the grease does not accumulate to the point where the grease will automatically exit the grease trap. Lee’s Environmental vacuums up this grease and all the contents of the grease trap with our high-power vacuum trucks. Our grease trap service also includes scraping down all walls and baffles inside your grease trap, hosing down the walls, reporting to you the customer on the condition of the grease trap and if any repairs or maintenance is required.
Because grease traps are located outside your house, you are not required to be at home while we perform your service, so you can avoid the temporary (15 minute) smell which emanates from the grease trap while the lid is open.
Lee’s Environmental offers free reminder calls to let you know when your grease trap is due for pumpout. Please email or phone (3206 4844) to add your household to our regular pumpout cycle. We look forward to hearing from you.
Exceptional Service
Our service technicians provide the highest quality service on each occasion and are happy to answer any questions you may have about your system.
Why Grease Trap Blockages Occur:
When trapped grease builds up between the baffle walls to the point where grease cannot be retained in the grease trap, it will automatically flow out of the outlet, eventually solidifying in outlet pipes and blocking up drains.

What Our Clients Say
Mick from Lee’s Environmental was excellent and explained how our septic, grease trap and greywater tanks work in detail. As a manager of large corporations, it was refreshing to see and listen to someone with such passion for their job!
I just wanted to let you know how happy I was with the service we received from Lee’s Environmental. The gentleman who came to work at our property, Colin, was very efficient, courteous and polite. I will certainly pass on the company’s details to friends who may need septic or grease trap services.
Getting your grease trap and septic tank checked is not something you want to think about, so having a friendly reminder letter was just what I needed. From my phone call to collection a couple of days later, everyone at Lee’s were helpful and pleasant. I even got a text to say they were on their way. I was very impressed with Dirk and his off-sider JP who were very obliging. My septic tank and grease trap were cleaned and tidy before I knew it.
It was lovely dealing with your company.
